Tiana N. Stephenson
FOUNDER + Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Tiana Stephenson founded The Wright Community School to ensure every student is valued, heard, and seen—a vision inspired by her grandmother, Mable Jeanette Wright, who nurtured Tiana’s early love of learning. After beginning a master’s program in journalism, Tiana discovered her calling in education while volunteering in a top school’s after‑school program and transitioned to a master’s in education. She taught at Mastery Charter School (Philadelphia), then relocated to Atlanta to support a turnaround elementary school. As an executive director overseeing three schools in Fulton County, she leaned into asking “Why?” behind academic and behavioral patterns to better design supports for students and families. Grounded in nearly three years of community listening, she launched The Wright Community School.Tiana’s leadership reflects resilience, a belief in the power of education to transform lives, and a commitment to co‑designing a school with families so students can pursue their passions and serve their communities.
Today, Tiana's mission is to ensure that all students at The Wright Community School have the opportunities to find their passions and learn in a supportive environment. She believes in empowering students to make a difference in their community and beyond.
