    Mario Stephens, a graduate of Clayton County Public Schools and community leader in Decatur, GA, is deeply committed to fostering student development and community support. With experience as both an educator and senior pastor, Mario prioritizes nurturing critical thinking skills and engaging with social issues at a deeper level, and understands key obligations of nonprofit governance and management. He is dedicated to equipping students with the tools to think critically, embrace diverse perspectives, and actively participate in their communities. Mario's blend of a teacher's insight and a pastor's compassion ensures that the envisioned school becomes a nurturing environment where students excel academically and grow into compassionate leaders.Mario’s deep roots in Clayton County as a graduate of Clayton County Public Schools  and commitment to community outreach add valuable perspective to the board's efforts to serve the diverse population effectively.

    Okevia Carter is a dedicated educational leader currently serving as the Executive Director of the Henry County School of Scholars. With a Bachelor of Science in Human Development & Family Sciences from Florida State University, a Master of Science in Counseling & Psychology from Troy University, and a Specialist in Educational Leadership from the University of West Florida, she is also pursuing her Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Kennesaw State University.

    Okevia brings a wealth of experience in educational leadership, having served in various roles including Executive Director at SESI Schools/Camelot Academy and Guidance Counselor at Booker T. Washington High School. Her competencies encompass curriculum and instruction, culturally responsive pedagogy, classroom management, and project management. She is recognized for her commitment to student success and has been awarded the 2016 Inweekly Rising Star and the "Spirit of Delta Award" from the Pensacola Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

    Okevia is certified as a school counselor in both Florida and Georgia and is proficient in educational technologies, ensuring the effective implementation of innovative practices to foster student growth and achievement.

    Dr. Jason Andrews, a resident of Cobb County, Finance Committee Lead,  is a highly qualified finance professional serving as Director II of Administration & Finance at Morehouse School of Medicine. With extensive experience, Dr. Andrews excels in strategic financial management. He leads fiscal planning, resource allocation, and operational efficiency efforts. Known for his integrity and professionalism, Dr. Andrews collaborates with senior leadership to optimize financial performance and ensure efficient resource utilization. His expertise in budgeting processes, financial analysis, and risk management drives success.Dr. Andrew’s expertise in financial management and commitment to connection to the community through his work at Morehouse School of Medicine makes him a great asset to the proposed board.
