The WRIGHT Representation

At The Wright Community School, we selected yellow, green, and maroon as our school colors in collaboration with our community.

  • Yellow symbolizes hope, happiness, light, and confidence, reflecting our mission to empower students to grow and make informed choices.

  • Green represents drive, calmness, and motivation, aligning with our goal to foster personal development and self-determination.

  • Maroon adds a touch of ambition, confidence, and strength, underscoring our commitment to helping students achieve their full potential.

Together, these colors embody our vision and mission, reinforcing the supportive and empowering environment we aim to create for our students and community.

The WRIGHT Colors

Clayton County is home to the Atlanta airport, a symbol of movement and possibility, much like the story of the Wright Brothers. Though they weren’t the first to fly, they were the first to succeed, showing the power of "succeeding through failure." Inspired by their story, we incorporated a plane into The Wright Community School logo.

After listening to community feedback, we transitioned the plane to a paper plane to avoid confusion with an aviation program. The paper plane symbolizes uniqueness, as no two flights are the same due to wind, air currents, and flight paths. Similarly, every student is different, and their success depends on the effort and support they receive.

The paper plane flying out of the school in the logo represents our commitment to shaping students’ trajectories, preparing them to soar toward their own unique destinations.

The Wright Community School mascot, “Pat the Pilot,” is named in honor of the founder’s second cousin, Dr. Patrick Hudgins. Patrick, meaning noble, reflects the high aspirations we have for our students. Dr. Hudgins, a clinician with extensive experience in mental health and education, inspired the founder by demonstrating that completing college was possible and by bringing joy and encouragement during her summers in Virginia. “Pat the Pilot” embodies this spirit of guidance, inspiration, and the belief that every student can chart their own path to success.
