POSITION SUMMARY

WHAT YOU WILL LEAD

The Wright Community School seeks a visionary, strategic, and results driven Associate Director of Academics and Instruction to lead the development, implementation, and operational readiness of the school's academic program in preparation for its August 2027 opening.

As a founding member of the school's leadership team, the Associate Director will be responsible for translating the school's approved charter commitments, educational mission, and instructional philosophy into a comprehensive, rigorous, and sustainable academic program.

The Associate Director will provide leadership in curriculum and instructional design, assessment and academic accountability, teacher recruitment and professional development, Multi Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), master scheduling, academic policies, college and career readiness, and instructional operations.

The Associate Director will also lead the development of the school's Dual Enrollment and Postsecondary Pathways Program, including establishing partnerships with Georgia colleges, universities, and technical colleges; developing academically aligned pathways; and creating systems that prepare eligible students to earn postsecondary credit while completing their high school education.

The Associate Director will also own the academic portions of the SCSC FY2027 Pre Opening Checklist, including special population procedures, the student information system, the Educational Program Update, and the required state assessment and data trainings. The Associate Director will also support school leadership on the staffing, enrollment, budget, and policy milestones that affect the academic program. The SCSC may suspend a school's opening if Priority Milestones remain outstanding, so meeting these deadlines is a core expectation of this role. Everything the Associate Director produces for the SCSC must be submitted to the Executive Director for review at least one month before its SCSC deadline.

Like every member of The Wright Community School staff, the Associate Director is expected to host, table, and attend community events throughout Year 0 and beyond to build relationships with the community and support student enrollment.

The successful candidate will possess strong instructional leadership expertise, demonstrated experience developing academic systems, and the ability to translate strategic priorities into measurable results.

The primary goal of this position is to ensure that The Wright Community School opens in August 2027 with the academic infrastructure, instructional resources, prepared educators, and accountability systems necessary to deliver an exceptional educational experience from the first day of school.
